   Patient Privacy Breach risks associated with third-party vendors directly accessing ABELDent databases without using an ABELDent API
   Given the rapid growth of AI-driven cyber threats, we are increasingly concerned about patient privacy breaches resulting from third-party software directly accessing your ABELDent database without using a specifically designed ABELDent API for that purpose. We do not, and have never had, any operational business relationship with vendors that access your data without a secure API provided by us. If you are using such third-party products, your patient data is increasingly at risk. To read from and write to an ABELDent database, these products, which may have good intentions, create access points that malicious third parties can also leverage. This level of access increases the likelihood that attackers can extract patient information, resulting in serious privacy breaches. While your practice is ultimately and totally responsible for safeguarding patient data, we are concerned about the heightened risks posed by third-party systems and the potential impact on your operations, compliance, reputation and the life of your practice. We can provide the best possible protection if you do not allow any third-party access to your data. However, with your formal approval and a clear acknowledgment of the residual risk, which is lower than the risk of operating without an appropriate API, we can provide secure, customized API access to qualified third-party software vendors.
   
   
3. Little retraining required
   Since ABELDent’s Cloud and Local Plus versions share the same modern UI, your team is ready. Only training on PCS, available free of charge, is required.
   
   
4. Reduced Hardware Costs
   Eliminate the need for periodic server replacement, and related costs, including server-based operating system and SQL licenses per workstation. This allows your IT provider to focus on helping you protect your practice and ensure your systems are performing optimally.
